With a population of approximately 100 inhabitants, the village of Kaloksylos is located in the area of Tragaia, at the centre of Naxos. The area is overgrown with olive trees, orchards, sycamores, chestnut trees and other fruit bearing trees, and the village is known for its traditional narrow alleys and houses, its yards and flowers. An ideal location for walks and hiking. Entering the village, the church of Aghia Triada welcomes you, and numerous chapels, dating back to the byzantine era but also from more recent years, can be found in the surrounding area. Amongst these, the most significant are the chapels of Panagia Damniotissa and Aghios Ioannis Theologos. At the centre of the village there is an olive oil mill, which functioned until recently and which has been renovated and is open to visitors.
