On the way to the village of Apollona, you will pass though the small picturesque village of Mesi. The sycamore tree is Mesi’s landmark. There, you can find a spring with the “lightest” water as referred to by locals who consider it to be “an elixir for youthfulness”. The renovated traditional olive oil mill and the Elementary School which functions as a folklore museum are both worth a visit. Also, just at the end of the village, you will find a cave known as Drakontospilio, with stalactites and stalagmites, while on the way to Apollo you will see the mountain range of Kalogeros, with a plateau where the ruins of a castle from the ancient and byzantine years have been discovered.
If you follow the rural road from Mesi you can reach the beautiful small harbour of Ai Giorgi Voridi, ideal for swimming and fishing.
